Little Somethings: Bike Month

I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Bike Month!  Have you been able to ride your bike lately?  I started riding my bike to work and love it!  It is one of my favorite times of day.  Sadly, my bike is in the shop right now, but Zach was kind enough to loan me his bike for the week (his portrait is above).  He is a real champ!

Wegner og Vand

The next day in Denmark we took a morning walk by the Little Mermaid.   We slowly made our way to the Designmuseum Danmark.  There were really great exhibitions there including Just One Good Chair about Hans Wegner.  It was so interesting to learn about his design process and career.  I love his Shell Chair.  One of the best parts of the museum was where you could sit in the furniture to test out how successful the legendary chairs actually are.  I am here to tell you, there is a reason they are so highly regarded! After spending hours in the museum we went to relax by Nyhavn Harbor and watch the boats go by.  The colorful houses have so much character.  Our last day we spent exploring smaller canals and observe the cyclists of Copenhagen (bike lanes are no joke in Denmark!).  Overall it was an amazing weekend, thanks to the sweet and secretive Zachary.

If you haven't been to Copenhagen I would highly recommend it.  Visiting a city like Copenhagen made me fall in love with design all over again.

Product Love: Tokyobike

When I came across this stylish, feminine two-wheeler it made me miss my amazing mother.  She introduced me to cycling, design and fashion.  This should be her bike.  It is a collaboration between A. Four/Lucas Price for Tokyo Bike.  Coincidentally, my mom also visited Tokyo and it was one of her favorite places (a perfect match, right?).  In 2002 Tokyo bikes set out to design a cycle as fitting for the Japanese metropolis as the Breezer mountain bikes were to their peaked counterparts.  Their success allowed them to open a store in London.  What beautiful bikes!  After reading through Tokyobike's blog I came across these chic bike accessories:

Bike in Style: Iva Jean

I love biking dearly and wish that either of the cities I live in were more bike friendly.  Iva Jean has the cutest bike clothes and suggestions for bicycling on her blog.  I have been reading it since I found it a couple days ago.  Can't get enough.  Do you ride your bike to work/school?  We all should!
