Disappearing Act

Yesterday Zach and I went to Cramond Island.  Its just a short bus ride from where we are staying.  It was really amazing.  If you go to Edinburgh you must go see it, but first check the tide times here.  The Island lies in the Firth of Forth.  When the tides are high it stays true to its name, an island.  When they are low you can walk across a causeway (we saw some people and dogs just roaming in the sand) and explore the island.  The island was full of beautiful flowers, rock formations and surrounded by deep blue sea shells.  There are also ancient ruins, remains of farm houses and the Duck House (a vacation home), and mostly in tact military defense structures.  We relaxed the rest of the day and watched the tide rise.  It started to pour right as we were leaving.  Perfect timing!
