Beat Kaempfen has been lecturing at our school for the last week. We have seen him three times, and I absolutely love his buildings. He is a Swiss architect, who builds net zero or positive net energy buildings. At the beginning of each lecture, Kaempfen held up his Swiss watch. "This is my model for architecture". This watch runs on solar power, and it has never run out of batteries in the years that Kaempfen has had it. He can even put it in his pocket for an entire month and it will still run. He believes that our buildings should work this way. They should be contributing, giving back to the environment not just taking away. What a great philosophy.
