The Walkmen's new album Heaven cannot be left off of a "Best of 2012" list. It may be a large departure from their angsty past of We've Been Had and The Rat, but this album has a little bit of magic. It reminds us that adulthood is not a demise, but it may be what Hamilton Leithauser calls "the good years, the best we'll ever know" in the song Heartbreaker. So if you're in need of a pick me up, or just need to know that love and happiness do exist, listen to this album.
