Music is always a good way to start off the week. One of my best friends in college just introduced me to the Alabama Shakes. Their first album, Boys & Girls was released April 9, 2012. Their modern soul, blues rock feel is actualized with Brittany Howard's voice, Heath Fogg's guitar, Zac Cockrell's bass, and Steve Johnson's beats. Brittany Howard's heart wrenching voice has been described as an incarnate of Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin. This album will take you back to the late 60's electric blues and rock of Otis Redding and the Rolling Stones. So take four minutes and listen to their hit single, Hold On. I promise you won't be the same.
