Are you familiar with Ernest Race? Through my studies at K-State I have learned about many influential furniture makers, but it is hard to cover all of them. I am always very excited to learn about a new designer and their impact on the world of furniture. Ernest Race formed Race Furniture after the end of World War II. Similar to many designers of his era, Race used new technological advancements developed throughout the war to create new furniture forms. He also was able to incorporate excess materials from British warplanes and parachute silk into the creation of his furniture. His most well known designs are the BA3 Chair and the Antelope Chair (aren't those great feet?), but I also love The Rocker.
